WASHED SAND
MASONRY SAND
We wash and grade our pit run into several different materials including washed and dried sand. We mine an angular silica sand that can deliver throughout the state. Angular sand features sharp, irregular particles that interlock to create a stable, firm surface with excellent adhesion and drainage, making it ideal for construction materials like concrete and mortar, as well as for equestrian arena footing where stability, traction, and cushioning are crucial. Unlike rounded sand, which rolls like marbles, the jagged edges of angular sand provide a better "grip" for other materials and surfaces, leading to more durable and reliable results. Our washed sands are wet materials because they are exposed to the elements.

Our masonry sand is specially fine graded to make a smooth grout for brickwork and blockwork. Turf grass loves a fine silica sand, so many apply it to grassy yards, seeding, and sports fields. Because of its fineness, it is very soft, so it is also used for equestrian traffic and as sand boxes for children.
CONCRETE SAND
Concrete sand is a coarse sand primarily used in ready-mix concrete. This material is manufactured to ASTM standards and approved by ALDOT for use in road and bridge projects. The angularity of our sand increases the strength of concrete by ensuring a strong bond between cement and large aggregate.
