PIT MATERIALS
We have several pits located throughout the Dallas County area and can try to fit the spec of any project for clay, topsoil, pit run, or other borrow material.
CLAY GRAVEL (only upon special request)
This is our red clay mixed with the dirty #57 gravel and holds up well for roads and foundations. This is available on the yard, whenever the red clay is available.
RED CLAY (for large projects only)
This is a "fat clay" content and typically a pit material, but we sometimes have extra on the yard for quicker delivery on smaller orders. Many use this for road bases and foundations, when packing for a tighter outcome to seal out any moisture.
TOPSOIL
Our topsoil comes straight out of the pit and is not washed or graded. It has rocks and roots in it but is great for gardens or landscaping projects.
PIT RUN
This material comes directly from our pit prior to washing. It contains sand and gravel, very little clay, and possibly some roots or sticks. It's good as fill material but can also be used for under-slab fill or foundations for houses and roads.
BROWN CLAY (sandy, A5)
Our most commonly used clay is in steady supply and is used on highway projects, foundations, and roadways. It has a classification of A5 or better, packs well, and drains well to better complement the heavy prairie type soils we have around here.
